A SEMINIARY JOURNEY !!
This paper examines Jesus’ parable of the barren fig tree in Luke 13:6–9 and explains its message of God’s patience, mercy, and call to repentance. Readers will learn how the owner, vinedresser, fruit, and fig tree illustrate God’s expectations for His people, why His patience should not be abused, and how genuine repentance produces faithful obedience. The study also shows why this ancient parable remains relevant to Christians and the church today.
This paper teaches how Joel 2:28–32 connects to the events of Pentecost in Acts 2, especially Peter’s explanation that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit fulfilled Joel’s prophecy. It also examines whether the prophecy has an ongoing or future fulfillment, considers historical and literary interpretations of the Pentecost account, explains speaking in tongues as human languages, and argues that water baptism is a public expression of salvation rather than its cause. Readers will learn how Old Testament prophecy is applied in the New Testament and how differing interpretations shape an understanding of the Holy Spirit, Pentecost, and baptism.
This paper will teach how God’s redemptive plan unfolds throughout the five books of the Pentateuch. By examining creation and the patriarchs in Genesis, Israel’s deliverance in Exodus, holiness and sacrifice in Leviticus, the consequences of disobedience in Numbers, and covenant renewal in Deuteronomy, readers will learn how God remains faithful despite human failure. The paper also shows how these themes point forward to Jesus Christ and offer enduring lessons about obedience, faith, holiness, repentance, and redemption for believers today.

God’s Redemptive Plan in the Pentateuch
Welcome to Seminary with Steven. Welcome to my seminary journey! This page is a living archive of my time as a theology student. As I move through my classes, dive into deep research, and wrestle with difficult texts, I am using this space to share my papers, essays, and notes directly with you in real time. Seminary can be a massive investment of time and resources, but the insights uncovered here shouldn't stay locked behind classroom doors. My goal is to open up my desk to you—allowing pastors, small group leaders, students, and curious believers to learn right alongside me. By documenting what I am being taught in school, I hope to make deep biblical scholarship accessible, practical, and highly edifying for your own walk with Christ.
Thank you for walking this academic and spiritual road with me. Feel free to use these writings for your own studies, and check back often for new papers as my semesters progress!
In Christ, Steven
This paper teaches that Christian discipleship is a lifelong process of growing in faith, understanding Scripture, and becoming more like Christ. Through Jesus’ four phases of disciple-making—“come and see,” “come and follow me,” “come and be with me,” and “remain in me”—readers learn how Jesus invited, trained, equipped, and sent His followers to continue His ministry. The paper also shows that effective discipleship requires patience, prayer, obedience, faith, loving leadership, teamwork, and perseverance through rejection and persecution. Ultimately, readers will learn both how to mature as disciples of Christ and how to guide others toward faithful, lasting discipleship.
This paper teaches how the book of Ezekiel presents God’s sovereignty, glory, judgment, and restoring presence during Judah’s exile. Readers will learn about Ezekiel’s prophetic calling, his visions and symbolic actions, the reasons for Jerusalem’s judgment, the oracles against surrounding nations, and the promise of renewal through a new heart, God’s Spirit, a faithful shepherd, and a restored temple.
This paper teaches how Paul’s three missionary journeys helped spread the gospel throughout Asia Minor and Europe, establish churches, and strengthen early Christian communities despite persecution and hardship. Readers will learn about the major people, places, events, and challenges recorded in Acts 13–21, as well as Paul’s faith, perseverance, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and lasting influence on Christianity.

This paper will teach how biblical principles offer a Christ-centered approach to resolving conflict. It contrasts worldly responses rooted in pride, power, and self-interest with the humility, love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy modeled by Jesus. Readers will learn how these principles, along with practical conflict-management styles, can help them respond to disagreements in ways that honor God, strengthen relationships, and promote genuine reconciliation.

This paper teaches that evangelism is not a sales pitch or a task reserved for church leaders; it is every believer’s calling to share Christ’s love authentically. Readers will learn how prayer, passion, and dependence on the Holy Spirit equip Christians to share the gospel faithfully, trust God with the results, and encourage others to become disciple-makers.
This paper explains the Holy Spirit’s role in the believer’s spiritual life, including regeneration, guidance, sanctification, comfort, assurance of salvation, and spiritual gifting. It also shows how the Spirit renews the mind, produces spiritual fruit, strengthens prayer and worship, and helps Christians live in daily obedience to God. Through biblical teaching, insights from Joseph S. Carroll, and personal reflection, readers will learn how dependence on the Holy Spirit can deepen faith, shape Christlike character, and strengthen one’s relationship with the Lord.
